An interactive class seeks to get participants on the path to financial success.
The United Way’s, "Planning Your Financial Future" class is set to begin Tuesday at the John McIntire Library, but the organization is still in need of at least three more people to sign up in order to offer the course. The classes meet once a week for six weeks and are taught by Financial Advisor Scott Webb.
"It’s not just that we’re going to sit there and he’s not going to lecture to you he’s going to tell you. I’ve been there, done that and these are the mistakes that I’ve made and the lessons that I’ve learned and pass that on," said Community Impact Coordinator Amy Davis.
Some of the topics being discussed are ways to be wealthy, insurance debt and estate planning.
"It’s so much more than the budgeting. You can leave that class that night with information you can take home and apply to your life," explained Davis. "It’s not something you just hear about and say well it’s not for me right now, it’s for me in 10 years."
The class is $30 per person. Those interested can sign up until 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon by calling the United Way (740) 454-6872 or 2-1-1.
