Mark your calendars for February 9th for a Valentine’s Dinner and Dance celebration.

Doors will open at 6 PM and an Italian feast will be served at 6:30 including live music. The funds from this event will benefit two local charities who decided to work together in the hopes to have more donations and help more individuals in need than with only a single charity working for their own cause.

Paul Quinn said, "its going to raise money for two local charities. The National Alliance on Mental Illness and the KFC Charities. So two local charitable organizations going together to serve the community. The featured entertainment will be a band called Remember Them, which is based out of Athens, Ohio but features my brother Tom Quinn, who is a doctor in Athens and is coming to serve the community.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness or NAMI has a Zanesville affiliate that serves the six surrounding counties and provides support for the mentally ill, including training for law enforcement regarding the mentally ill and also family courses.

"We also teach a course called family to family which is designed to help families, cope with the very unique problems that are brought on by mental illness, it’s a twelve week course, we charge nothing for this.. This why were are doing things like this, try to raise some funds," said Tom Quinn.

This is the first year for the Valentine Dinner so the Quinn Family hopes to get word out about the charitable event in order to make it an annual fundraiser with the Knights of Columbus and NAMI.
