Genesis Healthcare is hoping to bring awareness to your heart while having a little fun.

The annual Day of Dance will take place Saturday at the Colony Square Mall. The day offers residents a chance to learn about heart health by receiving free screenings. Diabetic screenings will also be offered. There will also be higher level heart and vascular screenings for one hundred dollars that’s beneficial to people at the risk of suffering a stroke.

"We start screening at 8 a.m. and they come through and they get all those screenings on-site, they get the results on-site and then sit down with a heart expert and they actually can tell the person you’re at risk here or there," said Holly Voltz with Genesis Healthcare.

The event is called of Day of Dance because any type of movement helps people get heart healthy.

"We’ve got dancers that come out here that are five to 95. It’s never too late to start dancing and even dancing with some music at home when you’re cleaning, anything like that is a happy cheerful way to get heart healthy, it helps with your balance, there’s just so many benefits to it," said Voltz.

Those planning on getting screened need to fast for five hours before hand. The screenings will end around noon.
