Hearth and Home Show Opens

The Hearth, Home and Away show has something for everyone at the Colony Square Mall this weekend.

It’s not just home repair that is the focus of this year’s show. If you’ve already finished upgrading your home and our focused on decorating, there’s that too.

This year Coconis Furniture is displaying a new trend in mattresses, the gel infused Icomfort memory foam.

"It’s pressure relief. That’s the biggest thing right now is kind of getting rid of the springs and memory foam," said Buyer and Merchandiser Bo Coconis. "The gel infused memory foam let’s you sleep cooler. There’s one piece of furniture you touch every single night for the most part and it’s your mattress."

Coconis said that an average mattress will last 8-10 years, but memory foam are warrantied for 25. He also said that if you are in the mood to buy furniture, it’s best to stop by since stock changes so often.

"Things are getting a little more contemporary and transitional. Obviously, with living in Southeastern Ohio oak is becoming more popular. There’s some more trends in sofas and even bedrooms now," explained Coconis.

If you visit the home show this weekend you can also take a turn in the new massage chairs. The home show runs through Sunday during at the Colony Square Mall.
