More On Rite Aid Store Closing

The Rite Aid on Maple Avenue is closing this month.  Public Relations Specialist Eric Harkreader says the last day of regular business for that location is February 23rd.  He says employees have been notified of the closing and customers are being told too.  Harkreader says all prescriptions and prescription records will be available on February 24th at the Rite Aid at 825 Main Street.  Harkreader says the decision to close was made based on business conditions unique to the 2369 North Maple Avenue location.  He says from time to time it’s necessary to evaluate a store’s operations to make sure it makes good financial sense.  Harkreader says the location is leased property that will revert back to the landlord when the lease expires shortly after the closing.  After the initial February 23rd closure, the general merchandise section of the store will reopen without the pharmacy on March 3rd for liquidation.  It will remain open until a sufficient amount of the merchandise has been sold.
