A state group is calling on area district leaders to recognize the needs of Muskingum County.
The non-profit group "Ohio Fair Share" is an alliance of several state organizations and their focus here is on creating more jobs in district twelve. Organizer Jordan Murphy called on Representative Pat Tberi to vote for a budget deal that will end tax loopholes for corporations and rebuild the economy in Mskingum Cunty.
"We want to bring awareness to that fact that we’re losing a lot of money as a state to corporate tax loopholes and offshore taxations, that’s money that we can use here in the district to create jobs through job training and also strengthen retirement," said Jordan Murphy with Ohio Fair Share.
Ohio Fair Share has teamed up with the Ohio Alliance for Retired Americans to increase the protection of the health and economic security of older Americans.
"I hope that Congressman Tiberi, //3:36 EDIT 3:45// would hear that message and find a way to begin to instead of having the rhetoric of job creators, we hold those folks accountable that they actually create jobs, they actually do what they say they’re going to do," said Norman Wernet with the Ohio Alliance for Retired Americans.
Ohio Fair Share will be meeting with a representative next week. To learn more about the organization visit Ohio Fair Share’s website.
