You can help out hospice in Zanesville just by sending your Valentine a singing telegram.

The international organization of women singers, ‘The Sweet Adelines’ , use barber shop harmony to sing their tunes and the local chapter, "Friendship VII", are prepping for Valentine’s telegrams.

Public Relations Spokesperson for ‘The Sweet Adelines’, Bonnie Bean said, "For Valentine’s Day, we send quartets all throughout the Zanesville area to sing singing telegrams. We have several different songs that we can sing and we try to usually match the song to the type, for instance, if it’s a grandmother sending it to a grandson we wouldn’t sing the same as a husband to a wife."

It is for a good cause beyond the regular Valentine’s Day gift, all the proceeds go to Genesis Hospice in Zanesville with a minimal donation of ten dollars.

"Many times they are surprised, there are a few people that get them every year so they expect them but we have had laughing, giggling, uncontrollable crying, we have had people so embarrassed they cant look at us but you can tell they are appreciative and everyone knows it goes to a good cause," said Bean.

If your Valentine is not local, they also offer phone Valentines. If you are interested you have until noon on Thursday to call and schedule at 740-454-5599.
