by George Hiotis on February 5, 2013

A 19-year-old Zanesville man is sentenced in connection with a fatal accident last spring. The Highway Patrol says 19-year-old Joshua Sheets was driving a car and struck a motorcycle driven by 53-year-old John Briggs, also of Zanesville. It happened on April 13th, 2012 on State Route 60 and State Route 555.  Sheets entered a no contest plea to vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter and failure to yield the right of way charges.  Judge Eric Martin recently sentenced Sheets to 90 days in jail, fined him 11-hundred dollars, issued a three year license suspension and ordered counseling at Muskingum Behavioral Health and one year of intensive probation.
