The Zanesville Museum of Art invited students from Zanesville and Muskingum County schools to display their art work at the 2013 "K through 12" scholastic art exhibition. The opening of was from 1 to 4 today where students and parents enjoyed a reception with drinks and snacks.
"This is a partnership with the AAUW, which is the American Association of University Women and we work together to send out form letters every year and those that want to be a part of it come and bring their work," said Andrew Near, of the Zanesville Art Museum.
The annual event has been honoring the talent and creativity of local students since 19-55. About 135 students will have their paintings, drawings, ceramic pieces, and photography displayed until March 23rd. Some participating schools include Hopewell elementary, Zanesville middle school, Bishop Rosecrans, West Muskingum schools.
"It’s a great show and it’s a great opportunity to see what’s going on right here in Muskingum County."
