Americorps Boxes could be found for weeks around Zanesville that were collecting books to donate to local schools and non profit organizations.

The book drive turned out better than the Americorps College Completion Coaches anticipated, collecting more than 2,000 books.

Gretchen Newsom, Americorps College Completion Coach said, "It was wonderful, it was way more than we expected, definitely. The community, it was outpouring how many different books we received; 2030 is way more than what we expected it has been quite a journey."

The donations will be delivered all over Muskingum County this week and each organization or school will receive around 100 books.

Roishell Cooper, Americorp College Completion Coach as well said, "Our total of delivery spots is going to be close to 18 different elementary schools and non profit organizations, all of the great support from the community, it was just outstanding and overwhelming to us. I’m ecstatic "

Both Newsom and Cooper wanted to express their gratitude of the generosity by the community to make the book drive such a success and hope to continue the drive in years to come.
