Over 600 area students and parents are expected to participate in College Night 2013 at The Campus Center of Zane State College/Ohio University–Zanesville on Thursday, March 14, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. A community service project of the high school guidance counselors of Muskingum, Guernsey, and Noble counties and the Scholarship Central/GEAR UP programs of the Muskingum County Community Foundation, College Night will feature fifteen different presentations on a variety of key topics pertaining to the college preparation process. Targeted for students in grades 6-12 and their parents, the event has been designed to allow participants to choose to attend three sessions, with experts offering vital information on college planning, college search and selection, admissions, college entrance testing, financial aid, scholarship search, college athletics, campus living, and other pertinent topics. Participation in College Night 2013 is free of charge for all attendees, and check-in will begin at 5:45 p.m. for those who pre-registered online as well as walk-in registrants.
Several scholarships and numerous other prizes will be awarded at the event, made possible by the generous support of College Night sponsors, which will also offer exhibits and display booths during the evening with free information and materials regarding various post secondary opportunities and financial aid options. A list of the event sponsors will be posted at the event and will also be included in the College Night 2013 program guide, which will be provided to all participants.
