Young girls from all around the area showed off their dancing and twirling skills at Maysville High School to raise money for The American Cancer Society. Girls from 3-18 years old performed various dance routines for over 100 spectators.
"The people that are here today go to a lot of competitions like this during the year and so from the time they’re a tiny beginner to an advanced dancer, they can come and compete," said event organizer, Pat Payne.
This is the 29th year for the competition. The dancers were judged on their routine, ability and personality. Refurbished trophies were donated by members of the community and given to the winners.
"The advanced division after they have won so many first place they used to get a savings bond, but now it’s cash towards a college of their choice."
All of the entry fees and door donations benefit the Zanesville Chapter of The American Cancer Society.
