Muskingum County Sheriff, Matt Lutz says the drug deal happened early this morning in Zanesville. Two Muskingum County residents were selling prescription drugs to four males who live in other counties and then attempted to rob them. The two Muskingum County residents were able to get money from them and then took off.

"There were a male and a female from Muskingum County that live here had made a prearranged drug deal with four out-of-county residents," said Sheriff Lutz.

The four individuals abducted the female Muskingum County resident. They then drove to Licking County where they dropped her off on the interstate. Police later found the female walking along interstate 70. A gun was found in the suspects car which was accidentally discharged. The female was not injured.

"They were able to get money from them and the two Muskingum County residents basically split up at that point. The four out-of-town residents which were four males, found the female and basically used her as leverage to find her partner and to get their money back."

The location of the drug deal and the names of the suspects will not be released at this time.
