Millers Lane Accident

Two people walk away with only minor injuries after their vehicle.

A witness said that he was traveling south on Millers Lane when he saw the 2002 Monte Carlo in front of him veer off the side of the road and hit cinders. He said the car tried to correct, but hit a fence and spiraled through the air.

"I just immediately pulled off the side of the road and went into the field," explained Witness Austin Dearinger. "I asked if they were okay and as they said yeah I started to pry the door open and then he was a little stuck in the seatbelt . I kind of yanked the seatbelt out a little  bit, so he had room to wiggle out."

State Highway Patrol Trooper Mike Forshey said that the car was probably traveling 50 to 60 mph based on a witness statement and evidence at the scene. He said it’s good the driver and passenger were wearing their seatbelts.

"Anytime you get a car like this and you aren’t restrained there’s a good possibility that you are going to come out of the car at least partially and in this case they were belted in and stayed in the car and didn’t get hurt too bad," said Trooper Forshey.

Trooper Forshey said the driver in the accident will be cited with failure to control.
