The Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra performed Irish music at Muskingum University’s Brown Chapel Sunday evening. The concert featured symphonic renditions of Percy Granger, Lord of the Dance, The Irish Rhapsody and the song, "Oh Danny Boy."

"The symphony orchestra itself is a wonderful mix of just about everything that’s instrumental, just about the best mix that you can have. You have all the string families, violins, violas, cellos, bases," said Laura E. Schumann, Director of Music for the SEOSO.

The Symphony Orchestra is a combination of students, residents, professionals and faculty musicians from West Virginia, Muskingum County and Columbus. The orchestra meets every Tuesday to prepare for the five concerts they put on throughout the year, including holiday and children’s concerts.

"It’s a great orchestra, we can always use more string players, people can come join us on Tuesday nights, we’re always very happy to have more community members join us. We would love to have talented high school apprentice students join us as well, and then of course, just come and listen. "
