The Muskingum County Starlight Program had a pep-rally for their division four basketball team. The Tigers will take on Hamilton West Side Jets Friday night at The Ohio State Recreational Physical Activity Center.

"It kind of brings everybody together and cheering on focused goal that we have, just brings the whole program together instead of it being workshop, and the students and the adult day program, it’s not program wide that everybody is cheering us on," said Sandy Drenten, Muskingum County DD Special Olympic Coordinator.

The Starlight Gymnasium was packed with people cheering on their successful team. Drenten says the players gain a lot of self confidence from playing basketball and that it just lets them enjoy the camaraderie and sportsmanship of it.

"We have been in the final four, this is our fourth time. We have come back with second, third and fourth places in the past. Two years ago we made it again and came home with second so we’re hoping for a gold this time."

If the Tigers win in Friday’s game, they will go back to OSU Saturday to play another game.
