The Zanesville-Muskingum County Welcome Center is gearing up for a busy tourism season and has already started showing off Muskingum County. As part of their marketing strategy, they have put together new brochures and tour guides for Muskingum County residents and visitors.

"Our visitor’s guide is hot off the press, we have our new 2013 Lorena guide and schedule. We also have a brand new brochures marketing the Village of Dresden, and we also have hot off the press, the pottery and arts guide for Zanesville-Muskingum County," said Kelly Ashby, VP of The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce.

Ashby says the Chamber attends trade shows throughout the year, and says they purchase advertising in publications like Home and Away, Ohio Magazine, and Pittsburgh Living. The idea is to market Zanesville’s unique pottery and art community, The Wild’s, The Lorena, and other Muskingum County attractions.

"Tourism has a huge economic impact on Muskingum County. It’s a 171 million dollar impact on Muskingum County alone, so it is absolutely huge. Over 2,000 are employed in the tourism industry in Muskingum County so it’s very important for the county to have a tourism effort."

You can stop by the Zanesville-Muskingum County Welcome Center to pick up the new brochures or you can go to for more information.
