Today the Zanesville City Schools Hall of Fame Committee announced the names of the Hall of Fame class for 2013,
This year the seven inductees are diverse in their accomplishments: Dr. Joseph Booth a local urologist, Todd Cerney a musician, Wayne Clark who coached track and field for 57 seasons, Chris Gaiters who excelled in football for Zanesville and then in college and is now a detective in Minneapolis, Dr. John Miller is a professor and motivational speaker, Dale Mautz is a 60 year member of Zanesville Athletic Booster and lastly James Robinson who was superintendent for more than 30 years in Zanesville.
Mary Ann Bucci, Publicity Chairman said, "Well, you could excel in lots of different areas: athletics, art, music education, business, and we are looking for men and women every year to be nominated in the fall in September."
Each year the committee struggles to choose between the well deserving nominees.
"Well it’s a process, that, oh my its just heart wrenching actually, because they are all qualified. So we go through, look at all of them. It’s a large committee of about 15 people, with many meetings, we go through all of the qualifications. "
The seven winners will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame on May 11th for a dinner and ceremony. Tickets are 25 dollars and you can purchase them on Monday, April 15th, at 740-588-5576 or at the Zanesville City Schools Administrative office.
