A Columbus artist is displaying her nature-inspired sculptures at The Zanesville Museum of Art. The special exhibition called Seeking Harmony with Nature displays both small and large clay sculptures of animals and plants.

"A lot of the inspiration comes from my concern about endangered species and about loss of habitat. And just trying to make some statements regarding those things. And how special and precious animals are," said sculpture artist, Denise Romecki.

Romecki teaches ceramics and sculpture at the Cultural Arts Center in Columbus and has participated in national and international exhibitions.

"My work has always been about nature. Whenever I hear things on the news about elephants or rhinos being poached and things like that, those are the things that really get to me and inspire some of the work."

The sculptures will be on display through June 8.
