It is National Public Health Week and The Zanesville Muskingum County Health Department is recognizing public health.

Prevention can save lives and money and this Friday and Saturday, the Health Department is having a Community Health Fair at Colony Square Mall.

Public Information officer, Jennifer Hiestand said, "We try to reach out to people about their health, a lot of times health is not a persons priority. So we try to do this out at the mall and and we try to provide the free health screenings and testing to people who may not have gotten a test otherwise."

The fair will have health screenings, body fat analysis and hearing tests in order to help keep people informed about their health status

"Its a chance to bring up the subject and of course we want to promote good health and remind people too, that there are chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes, cancer and these things are costly and they are common unfortunately but they are also preventable "

The fair is this Friday and Saturday during mall hours and is free to attend. For more information visit the Health Departments Website at ZMCHD.ORG
