Crime Stoppers Patrol Neighborhoods

The Muskingum County Crime Stoppers are essentially the eyes and ears of law enforcement officers when they can’t be everywhere. The group has over 5,000 members who donate their time to making Muskingum County a safer place to live.

"We just hope to take back our neighborhoods. I know there’s a lot of people that are around that are really discouraged about crimes and things that are happening in their neighborhood and we have a lot of good people in our group that report," said Co-Coordinator of The Muskingum County Crime Stoppers, Kelly Huffman.

The Crime Stoppers will be patrolling high crime areas this weekend by driving around town watching for crimes and reporting them to law enforcement.

"It happens pretty frequently. People are calling in when they see someone suspicious going into an abandoned house or things like that and they call in and report it to law enforcement so we’re doing pretty good."

If you want to become a Crime Stopper volunteer, Huffman says to add her on Facebook for more information.
