A Crooksville family comes together after a fire destroys their home.

Terry Savage, his daughter,Christy and her three children were forced from their home late last night. Their family rushed over when they heard the news.

Savage’s sister, Debbie Miller said "I was just in the kitchen last night to make a snack. I heard on the scanner there was a fire at 5460 Flint Ridge Road. I said oh my god that’s my brother so I got here as fast as I can but the house was fully engulfed."

The Muskingum Valley Red Cross said that the family had no insurance. The Red Cross is helping with money, for clothes, food, and temporary housing.Although Savage lost his trucks, money and deeds to the house, Miller said she is thankful for one thing.

"His grandkids made it out of the house, his daughter,it was just a miracle that they were here today."

The family is still at the house helping Savage clean up the debris. They hope to set up an account so that people can donate if they so choose.
