Deputies Say Man Lied About Gun Wound

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident where a man reportedly lied to deputies about a gun shot wound he suffered.

Deputies responded to the area of 8861 Johnstown Alexandria Rd. in Johnstown, Ohio at 10:37 p.m. after receiving reports of a man laying next to the road with a gunshot would to his chest.

According to deputies, Micah Munday, 33, of Johnstown, told deputies that he confronted an unknown male subject in his residence who was stealing a weapon when the unknown subject shot him with. Munday was transported to Grant Medical Center and is in stable condition.

Deputies say after being interviewed, Munday admitted to detectives that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted, stating he was not attempting suicide, but said he wanted attention from this mother.
