Zanesville’s Kailee Howe is coming back closer to home. The freshman at Morehead State has decided at the end of the year she will transfer to West Liberty.
Howe signed as a senior out of the Zanesville program to head to Morehead State on a basketball scholarship, but after appearing in 29 games this season she decided to leave and transfer closer to home. Howe will enroll as a Lady Hilltopper next season with three years of eligibility remaining and will not have to sit out because she is transferring from Division I to Division II.
In an interview done with hilltoppersports.com head coach Lynn Ullom said this about Howe. "We’ve had some recent success with players transferring into our program,” Ullom said, “and we think Kailee has a tremendously high ceiling. We were very impressed by her athleticism and her ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. We think her skill set is a very good fit for our program.”
Howe was a two time all district performer and two time all ECOL player in her time with the Lady Devils. She averaged 3.8 points and 1.7 rebounds this season with the Eagles.
