The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance is having their first ever Kentucky Derby Charity Event on May 4 at The Smiling Goat. The tickets are 10-dollars for one person, or 15-dollars for two and that gets you complimentary hor d’oeuvres, access to an open bar, a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction.

"This is an opportunity for the community to come out and have some fun and support a local charity, the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance. We’re having a Kentucky Derby Party. It’s May 4th from 3:30-6:30 at the upstairs banquet room at the Smiling Goat Saloon here in Zanesville," said Dennis Hitchcock, VP of The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance.

Hitchcock says the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance is one of the only support groups for depression and bipolar disorders in the county. It is run entirely by volunteers who hold free support group meetings every week for people with mood disorders.

"The money that were raising goes to pay for our office which is located in the Masonic Temple building downtown. All of the supplies and everything that we do free for the community, so it’s just a support our office here in Zanesville."

You can purchase tickets at The Smiling Goat and by calling the DBSA at 740-891-4666.
