Memorial Day is usually reserved for veterans but a local funeral home remembered the lives of all lost.

Snouffer funeral home had their second annual service of remembrance. At the service they played patriotic music as well as church hymns. Owner, Josh Snouffer says the service allows families to heal.

"What this is is where families can come and have an opportunity to share the loss of some of their relatives that have passed within the past year as well as relatives that have passed in years back. It just gives them time to reflect on lives lived," Snouffer said.

Snouffer says the service received a positive response from the community and that this will continue to be an annual event.

" Last year was the first year we had this we had several people ask us as they were going out the door are you going to do this next year because we want to come and there are several people this year that was here as well, " said Snouffer.

Families registered the names of the deceased so that they could be remembered. The event lasted 45 minutes but snouffer says the peace loved ones felt will last much longer.
