The Muskingum County Board of Elections is finding itself in a space crunch.

The County Commissioners met with six members of the Board of Elections Monday  to discuss additional office space. Director,Chris Hamill says that their office needed more room and she believes they made a good decision.

"We basically decided on what location we were going to stay at. We are going to stay at our current location but we are going to store some of our units off site and we will have our poll worker training offsite. So anybody who would like to vote absentee we will still be at the main location," said Hamill.

Hamill now says she can use the extra space in the main office for other projects and better organization.

" The main concern is we will have a larger area for voters and well have more room when we have a larger election well have more room for people to come in and help us, " said Hamill.

The Board of Elections will use the old work release building on Adamsville Road for the extra room. Hamill says she is glad they they came up with a decision that was cost efficient and worked for both her office and county commissioners.
