The Community Ambulance Service in Zanesville held its annual cook out on Friday in honor of EMS Week.
"EMS week is celebrated every May, it’s normally the third week in May. It’s just our time to show our appreciation to our crews and all their hard work. Ambulate drivers, our couriers, dispatchers and all they do," said Mandi Cornett, Marketing Representative for Community Ambulance.
The Community Ambulance crew invited the Zanesville Fire Department, the Zanesville Police Department and the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office to join in on the fun and good food.
"We had a couple breakfasts. We come in and cook breakfast for the crews in the morning and then we had homemade ice cream and homemade dessert day and we also had a homemade pizza day and we’re going to wrap it up tomorrow with homemade cookies."
Cornett says EMS personnel are often under appreciated and that this week was a way of showing that they are appreciated.
