The Muskingum County Business Incubator announced the winners of their Big Idea Contest Friday evening. The MCBI had 24 unique entries for the contest, but only three could win.

"The Big Idea Contest was created so that we can get individuals to be thinking about something different, something innovative. We know there’s a lot of folks with good ideas but they’re on the shelf at home or their in the garage. We want them to bring them out and lets find out if it’s something there’s a market for and we can grow a business around," said Carol Humphreys, Executive Director of the MCBI.

The first place winner was J. David Core, who came up with a floating garden product called "The Farmer’s Friend." The second place winner was Robert Colby with "Coshocton Crossroads: Living Traditions in the Heart of Ohio," and third place went to Todd Hawk and Chris David for their math program called, "Review and Preview," a program designed to help students excel at math.

"The first place is going to win $1,000 in cash and along with that, they win part of the affiliate client program and they also will be able to participate in the business plan workshop series. The second place and the third place both are winning free admittance to the business plan workshop series and that actually has a value of $300."

If you think you have creative business ideas, the MCBI will be having a business plan workshop series on June 13. You can give them a call to get signed up.
