The Military Family Support Group of Zanesville celebrated armed forces day by bringing awareness to military presence in our city.

The group has meetings to support local people dealing with their family member being abroad fighting for the country and today there were different displays set up at the John McIntre Library to honor the holiday.

"A lot of them do not have the support they would have if they were on a base so we try to let people know we can meet with them if they need someone to talk to on the phone whatever were all in this together, " said Secretary, A.J Smidt.

The displays included a place where you can sign cards, make gift kits, or look through veteran’s albums. Carol Hamilton, a member of the family support group, says even though her sons are home, she feels like the soldiers should never be forgotten.

"Somebody’s babies somebody’s boys and girls are still over there until the all come home we’ve got a mission to work through and work with so everyone can feel that they are not left out just because some of them come home some are still there. We will be doing this until they all come home, " said Hamilton
