County Commissioners met with a new member of the OSU extension Monday.

Jacqueline Kirby Wilkins is the Northeast Ohio Regional Director for the OSU extension and says it’s important to meet with the people who she will be working with in the future.

"I have 31 counties that runs from Wood County down to Guernsey and Muskingum and back to Ashtabula so one of the things I like to do is get out to the counties and meet with all the County Commissioners and thank them for their continued support and find out what it is they need from us at the OSU extension, " said Wilkins.

She took a brief break from working at the OSU extension and says she’s excited to get back to business.

" When this position opened up I got a chance to come back and move into more of an administration piece where I could do coaching and mentoring, hiring and performance appraisals and those types of things to strengthen and build some of the vision of extension. It was just an opportunity I couldn’t resist. " said Wilkins.

Wilkins has also served as an OSU Extension Associate in the area of human development and also served as a Parenting Education Specialist for the state. She says her first eight months has flown by and she’s excited to continue her work at OSU extension.
