The Ohio Department of Transportation met with Muskingum County Commissioners Thursday to discuss projects for 2013.
District 5 Deputy Director. Joe Rutherford says they have an informational meeting at least once a year to keep the commissioners updated on the work they plan to complete. This year a new entrance for Genesis – Bethsda hospital will happen.
"We will be building the new entrance way into their hospital in conjunction with their big expansion and were very excited to be working with them on that, " said Rutherford.
Rutherford says that the entrance way should be done in one construction season and that the new entrance will make navigating through the hospital easier.
" It will provide more turning room into the hospital. It will provide more turning lanes into the hospital. It will permit traffic to flow more freely on Maple Avenue, " said Rutherford.
Other projects discussed were bridge work and construction on interstate 1-70 in Muskingum, Guernsey and Licking counties.
