The Ohio Flags of Honor is coming back to Zanesville. It’s a touring flag display to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives for our country.

In our area, the flags represent Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties and the nine soldiers who died in Afghanistan or Iraq.

"Each flag that goes into the honor section has the young man, the young persons name on it, rank, and branch of service,” said Chairman Bud Johnson. “And then there is probably over 300 support flags. Anybody can buy a support flag and it travels too. Right now there is probably going to be close to 600 flags in Zane Landing Park."

On June14th at 6 pm, there will be a memorial and opening ceremony. From then, until 2 pm that Sunday, you will be able to visit and pay tribute to the fallen.

"Well if you want a moving experience, walk up in there and see. I mean it’s your young heroes that are sacrificing everything for you to stand around and do whatever you wanna do, go play golf or whatever. And you don’t even have to get out of your car, you can drive by, and you’ll see it. And it’s just a way of remembering their total sacrifice. "

Zanesville is one of only three cities in Ohio that has had the tour visit every year and john son says he wants that to continue.
