The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office said a female suffers sever injuries after being attacked by the family’s dog.

Authorities said Tuesday around 2:40 p.m. they received a call in reference to a mid 30’s female being attacked by the animal. The female was taken from the scene to Coshocton County Memorial Hospital and later flown by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center.

The Coshocton County Dog Warden, Rusty Dreher, found that a close neighbor saw the female in distress. As the neighbor approached the dog began attacking her again. He pulled the dog from the woman and secured it in its kennel. He then provided first aid until emergency responders arrived.

Dreher took the pet from the home and has it quarantined at a local veterinarian pending the outcome of the investigation.

The incident remains under investigation.
