Zanesville’s first semi-professional soccer club is making its debut this Sunday. The team put the finishing touches on their preparations Friday for Cleveland AFC, another member of the NPSL (National Premier Soccer League).

Zanesville Athletic will hold their home games on the turf at the Maysville Athletic Complex in South Zanesville. Owner and President Josh Stocker helped originate the idea for the addition of the club to Northeast Ohio. With the help of Fieldhouse Owner Mick Amicone, and Head Coach Brenton Dawson, his dream has become a reality.

Zanesville lost their first match at Buffalo last weekend, 2-1, but played quality soccer in the final minutes. Dawson and the players are excited to spark soccer interest in the area.

Kickoff for Sunday’s game against Cleveland AFC is set for 4:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.
