Zanesville residents showed off their gardens this weekend at an event to help raise money for the Zanesville Museum of Art.
The Beaux Arts Club hosted their second annual Art in the Garden event. The club is a women’s auxiliary organization that has been supporting the Zanesville Museum of Art through volunteering and financial donations since 1954. Yesterday, there was a Garden Party Gala where guests ate French inspired foods and participated in a live auction and Sunday, they took a garden tour throughout Zanesville, while doing different activities at each stop.
"Another garden has two Dulcimer musicians. There’s a culinary artist in one of the gardens. We have lots of fun things happening in the garden as well as exploring the beauty," said Co-Chair of Art in the Garden, Cindy Morehead.
There were seven stops on the garden tour and more than 400 guests at Sunday’s garden event. Some guests traveled in their own cars while others took the shuttle that the event provided. Morehead says the hard work put into the gardens from the homeowners inspires her.
" I love seeing the homeowners excitement and all that they do to prepare for us I mean there’s just such variation in the gardens, from water gardens to play areas to sculptures," said Morehead.
Morehead says last year they raised more than $ 34,000 for the museum and this year they are happy with whatever they receive.
