An area family is forced from their home after a fire Wednesday morning. It happened just before 9 a.m. at 865 Black Road near Hopewell to the home of Christopher and Tonya Bentley. National Trails Fire Chief Ted McNamara says his crews arrived on the scene and saw black smoke coming out of the house trailer. The Chief says the fire started near the stove and it took his fire fighters around 5 minutes to get in under control. But the structure suffered heavy damage in the kitchen and smoke and heat damage throughout the trailer. McNamara says the cause of the blaze has not been determined, but it was accidental and he estimates damage at around $50,000. No one was home at the time of the fire. The Muskingum Valley Red Cross is helping the Bentley’s with funds for clothes, food and temporary housing.
