Once again, junior Haley Gregory showed why she is one of the best athletes in the area. Saturday at the Regional Track Meet at Athens High School, Gregory was apart of several victories for the Lady Muskies. She won the girls 100 meter and 100 meter hurdles to advance to the state meet next weekend at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Gregory received help from Kelsey Knellinger, Emily Brown, and Ashley Ryan in the girls 4X100 relay to also take first in the event.
Also on the girls side, West Muskingum’s Lauren Paul continued to show her dominance in long distance. Paul won the 1600M race and took second in the 3200M. John Glenn’s Rheanna Wilson finished 2nd in the 1600M. Philo’s Tayler Swingle capped off a great season with a sixth place finish in the girls 400M.
On the boys side, Maysville’s 4X200 relay team finished strong, but could not outlast River View, who took first place. The Panthers also finished seventh in the 4X400 relay with a time of 3:32:29. The MVL continued to be well represented with Morgan’s Clinton Campbell in the boys 300 meter hurdles. Campbell easily finished first with a time of 38.86. Sheridan’s Matt Bromley also took first place in the 3200M with a time of 9:53:06.
