One local organization seeks a member to join their team.
The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties is looking for a Harvest Corps member. This employee will help update the 211 database as well as working with clients. They’ll also be in charge of the free tax prep clinics offered by the United Way.
"That person has been vital to us the last two years. Our tax program just completed the best year that we’ve had. We’ve just completed our 7th year of doing taxes. We served over 510 clients the most we’ve ever done and over $700,000 in refunds," said Community Impact Coordinator Amy Davis.
The person applying for the job doesn’t need to know how to do taxes because they’ll go through training, but they’ll need to possess other skills for the job.
"They need to work well in a group especially in the 211 call center," said Davis. "You’ve got to work well on your own and have that self motivation and being able to move especially in the tax preparation program because they are in charge of that program."
The position is being funded through Americorps and the Ohio Association of Food Banks. Those applying for the job will need to go to the United Way’s website and click on the Americorps link. Davis said the position must be filled by the end of July.
