Properties For Sale In Downtown Zanesville

After the housing slump started a few years ago, real estate activity in downtown Zanesville is beginning to pick up again.

"In the mid-2000’s things were going pretty strong and then 2008-2009 things slowed down again. I’m very excited to say that there’s real estate available in the downtown area both large and small, commercial and residential," said Dana Matz, Manager of the Downtown Zanesville Association.

Matz says the properties downtown are listed at fair prices and says that just like larger cities across the country, downtown Zanesville is pretty comparable. He says there’s a boom in downtown living across the country and says more adults ages 25 to 34 want to live in tight-knit, urban neighborhoods.

"Smaller buildings that are getting a lot of inquiries about; the railroad depot at Zane’s Landing. One that just came on the market that doesn’t even have a sign yet is Two Peas Antiques on Main Street at 528. The neat thing about that building is the first floor is retail and the second and third floor have condominiums that are ready to move into."
