According to South Zanesville firefighter, Andy James, his department was alerted to the blaze around 5:30 pm. Once they arrived to the scene there were flames and heavy smoke showing from the roof and rear of the fully evolved structure. Everyone inside was able to escape uninjured.

"There were workers, some families eating dinner at about 5:30 pm we got toned out, we arrived on scene, everybody was outside the building," James said.

Crews from seven neighboring cities responded to the scene including Newton Township, Zanesville Fire Department, Roseville, Crooksville, National Trails, Harrison Township And Falls Township to Provide Additional tankers and man power. Maysville Pike was closed by The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office in both directions near the fire. James was unsure of potential costs but said the building is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Just in the last hour over the police scanner there were reports of possible rekindling.
