Artist Shows Zanesville’s History Through Restored Photos

by Mackenzie Stasko on July 3, 2013

Mark Englehart is self taught and specializes in photo restoration at the Camera Shop in Zanesville. His work was most recently shown at the John McIntire Library with his restored photos of the historic 1913 Flood.

"Most of them are all old, but we have some new ones. We got different aerials. We have a comparison here from the 50’s to a recent aerial to show the difference in the downtown area," said Englehart.

Englehart is a third generation owner of the Camera Shop, which was started in 1950. You can view and purchase Englehart’s nearly 200 photos on display at Studio 202 Gallery in downtown Zanesville this Friday.

"We’ll be there from 5 o’clock to 9 o’clock Friday."

Englehart says he wanted to give local residents the chance to own a part of Zanesville’s history. The first Friday artwalk also starts this Friday at 5 p.m. You’ll be able to meet Zanesville’s creative artists and view their artwork as well
