A local salon offered haircuts for a great cause on Sunday.

Fabulous Cuts and Styles on Maple Avenue held a benefit for Carolyn Robinson. Robinson passed away, after struggling for 3 years, with her battle with breast cancer. Her family and friends at the salon say she touched their lives.

"She was actually amazing she was an R.N.. She worked with the hospital and teaching out at the vocational school. She went and did volunteer work for the Red Cross. She went to 9/11 when that happened and volunteered for them," said her stepdaughter, Angie Kirkendall.

The entire staff wore pink in honor of Robinson and different promotions were offered to raise money for her funeral cost and medical bills.

"All the proceeds go back to my step mom, we are doing food, the raffle and 50/50.. They’re also doing a yard sale, " said Kikendall.

The salon offered pink hair extensions as another way to raise money for Robinson. If you didn’t make it to the Cut-A-Thon you can donate by going to the salon directly or by e-mailing Kirkendall.
