A house fire that took place Sunday night in Glenford continued to burn through this morning.
A neighbor reported that the house next door was fully engulfed in smoke around 10 p.m. The house is located at 13993 State Route 668 North. No one was home at the time of the fire. The Glenford Fire Department was assisted by volunteer firemen from Somerset and Thornville to put out the blaze. When the brother of the homeowner, John Justice returned in the morning he says he noticed it reignited.
"I thought I seen a little bit of smoke didn’t really think anything of it and then it wasn’t just a short time later there was a lot of smoke and then there was flames so I called the fire department out again," said Justice.
The Fire Department rushed back to the house around 7:30 this morning and took care of the second round of fires. There are four people who live in the home. The homeowner, Ben Justice was on vacation with his son at the time of the incident and heard the news by telephone. His family is still unsure how the fire started.
"I know there was a lot of lightning and some big storms that came through last night but right now it’s still up in the air with the cause," said Justice.
The family of the victim say that they are here to support him and he will always have a place to stay until he gets back on his feet. When Justice returns he plans on talking with his insurance company to begin putting the pieces back together.
