A search for a local man in the Muskingum River was called off for Thursday night.
The Coshoction County Sheriff’s Office called the Dresden Fire Department out to Stillwell Road in reference to three people possibly drowning in the river.
"Of the three victims one of those victims swam out on his own and went back to call for help, another female victims had just been pulled from the water and is with the EMS folks in Coshocton County and the third is still missing," said Assistant Chief of Dresden Fire Department," Dave Lacy.
Authorities say the missing man is in his fifties. The three people were near the former Ethanol Plant in Coshocton when the incident occurred. The department set up south of the original location in hopes to find the man floating down river. Lacy says they have done all they could for tonight.
" The waters are very high, very swift because of all the rain we have had it’s dangerous to be out on. We don’t want to be out here after dark not knowing where were searching or what we are doing," said Lacy.
The fire department will continue the search tomorrow morning.
