A local golf outing raised scholarship money for high school seniors in the community.
Jaycee’s Golf Course had its annual Memorial Scholarship Competition today better known as the 999 tournament .
"9 holes best ball, 9 holes alternate shot, 9 holes scramble and it’s flighted based on all the teams ability, said PGA Golfer, Tyler Baughman.
There were more than 50 teams that particpated this year which Baughman says is an all time high . For the last 15 years the tournament has an honoree and this year Ron Bucci was selected for his contributions to the community.
"We learned a long time ago that you can’t help but help yourself when you stop to help somebody else and we’ve just continued to do that. " said Bucci.
Bucci and his family say they are humbled and grateful for the recognition. He says that this year the tournament will give out five $500 scholarships to students with academic excellence and more importantly community involvement.
