A new pipeline could soon make its way through some counties in our area.
The Williams Group approved Tuesday the company’s Bluegrass Pipeline Project. The proposed route for the project, found on the company’s website, will snake the pipeline through Perry, the southern half of Muskingum, Guernsey and Noble Counties.
The pipeline will connect supply from the Marcellus and Utica Shale gas areas to growing petrochemical and export markets in the US Gulf Coast areas of Louisiana and Texas. The pipeline will also connect natural gas liquids to the petrochemical markets in the northeast.
Phase one of the project will provide producers with 200,000 barrels per day of mixed natural gas liquid take away capacity for Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Phase two will increase capacity to 400,000 barrels per day.
The pipeline has a target service date of late 2015.
