Pottery Week Kicks Off

Southeastern Ohio is known for its rich history of pottery and this year, over 75 dealers from across the U.S. and Canada are coming to our area to sell, buy and trade pottery during pottery week.

"The location for them this year is Holiday Inn Express and there are lots of rooms that are filled with pottery so there’s pottery for sale and the sales are happening in the rooms. And there’s also an auction that will take place here this week," said Kelly Ashby, VP of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce.

Ashby says Pottery Week not only brings pottery enthusiasts from all over together, but it has a huge economic impact for Zanesville and the surrounding areas.

"In addition to the pottery lovers, there’s also the Hull reunion that takes place each and every year and the McCoy lovers as well. So it’s a great week to kick off pottery lovers. We certainly are thrilled that they are here and continue to come back to Zanesville each and every year."
