Joe Baker has been an ice cream maker at Tom’s Ice Cream bowl for 36 years and he says some of the classics are the most popular flavors.
"What we sell the most of is vanilla because it goes under all the sundaes so that’s a no brainer there," said Baker. "Chocolate probably next. We’ve had cookie dough and mint chocolate chip fighting back and forth. Right now we’re selling the heck out of salty caramel. That’s the newest flavor i’ve added."
Baker says he makes flavors that most other ice cream shops don’t sell and you wont be able to find them in the grocery store.
"Some of the flavors I do make you can find other places are my versions. And as the owner, Bill Sullivan will attest, that salty caramel is just killer. I mean it’s excellent. I don’t go halfway on anything. If it doesn’t taste right, I’m not making it."
Tom’s is open Monday-Thursday 11-10 a.m. and Friday and Saturday they’re open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
