Day two of Stars and Stripes on the River is taking place all day Thursday at Zane Landing Park.
At the downtown park, there is food, carnival games and local entertainment to amuse the crowds.
"We’ve got a band called To the Left, they’re playing from 2 o’clock to 6 o’clock and later on this evening we have Carson Drive, another local band out of the Dresden area, they will be playing from 7 o’clock up until 9:45 p.m. when the fireworks start," said Jaycee’s President, Mike Fulmer.
The Zanesville Jaycees are once again hosting Stars and Stripes. All proceeds are split between their organization and six other non profit organizations, and one of these groups is giving back to the community through the youth.
" The Zanesville Eagle Riders are putting this on. They’ve got 40 bicycles out here to giveaway to ages 2 to 15. Registrations are already open, " said
The bike giveaway is new to stars and stripes this year. To register for a bike you had to sign up by 5 p.m. and the bikes will be assigned to riders from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. this evening. The fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m. but organizers suggest getting there early for good seats and better parking.
